Competitive Intelligence¶
Research domain: Who is winning AI citations in a given space, what signals they have, and what the client is missing relative to those players.
When the Orchestrator Routes Here¶
- The competitive landscape is the primary question
- The client wants to know who's being cited and why
- The client has a competitor in mind and wants a signal comparison
What This Specialist Researches¶
- Which brands or sites appear in AI answers for the client's target queries
- What technical signals those sites have (schema, llms.txt, Bing indexation, crawl permissions)
- What content formats and structures those sites use
- Where the client's signal profile falls short relative to leaders
Research Approach¶
Starts with query testing across platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity) to surface who appears. Then audits those sites for the same signal set used in Signal & Technical — creating a comparative baseline.
What It Does Not Do¶
- Predict future citation behavior — findings reflect current state
- Assess content quality subjectively — it identifies structural and technical signals, not editorial judgment
